The closing of the first 21st Century DMA Utah

Much later than I wanted, but the update to close out DMA Utah is finally on the books. This was such a wonderful experience for Sam and myself. The students, conference services, and especially the band department at Weber State were tremendous.

Day Four was our final full day. This day was packed with even more information that the previous three. The students had an opportunity to enjoy an afternoon session full of Blue… The Blue Knights that is. DMA was invited to attend a clinic with the Blue Knights. This began with the drum majors of the Blue Knights spending some time answering questions and giving some additional pointers to the students. We then enjoyed a brief rehearsal with the entire corps. After a quick dinner, we trekked back up the mountain to the stadium to be apart of Corps Encore. The night ran a little long but i think everyone enjoyed the chance to spend time watching fellow musicians perform.

We didn’t let up the final morning. Sam and I kept everyone busy throughout the morning up to the fianl show and tell for the parents.

Thank you to all the parents who attended the final session.

So much for someone other than Plain City winning a march off. The twin terrors of Phil and Conley took them all.

Great Job to Everyone! Hope to see you again next year!
