Hi, my name is Heidi Sarver. And I want to talk to all the high school band directors that are out there.
During the academic year, I’m a Professor of Music at the University of Delaware. During the summer I’m the Educational Director and one of the Lead Clinicians for the George N. Parks Drum Major Academy.
I have been with the Drum Major Academy for over 35 years. And that number is frightening to me, but it seems like I started yesterday learning from one of the best in the business: George Parks himself.
I wanted to let you know that this summer we will be at Rider University July 6-9, it’s the only workshop we are offering in the PA/NJ/DE region.
Many of you have been sending your students to us for over 45 years. And we hope that you’re going to continue sending your student leaders to us to help begin their training for the upcoming marching band season.
I’m going to be at Rider. Dr. Tim Lautzenheiser is going to be at Rider. Some of the most sought-after college and high school band directors in the area are going to join me to help educate your student leaders and drum majors.

It’s so important to me to be able to get back to teaching your students.
I love the summer. I love working for the Drum Major Academy. And I love working with your students.
