…and so it begins…uh-gain!

The summer is here and so is the Drum Major Academy® bringing you another battery of workshops all around the country.  First stop–University of Alabama / Tuscaloosa.  ROLL TIDE!

We are only into the middle of the second day but it is quite clear that this is going to be an awesome experience for everyone!  Students are incredibly polite, inquisitive, and eager to learn/participate–a teacher’s dream!  There are some “challenges” that we have encountered along the way however….

  • Translation of my New Jersey / New York sarcasm into statements the southern student understands;
  • Translation of southern idioms (“It’s fixin’ to rain.”) so this “Yankee” understands.

You know…”challenges.”

Right now there is no question that the amount of information we, as a staff, are putting out there for the students to learn is ENORMOUS! …and again, it is only the middle of day 2.

Can’t wait to see what the rest of the week brings!
