What a first day! We are a strong 27 students spanning five states of the Union. The Nifty North American staff working the 1st Annual Weber State Drum Major Academy is being tag-teamed by Sam Simonton and Parker Denson. We were welcomed by the band director of WSU, Dr. Tom Root, on the new turf football field, where we will be having not only our outside sessions but our final show and tell on Friday.
Jumping in with both feet, the student’s toolboxes are beginning to fill up with new ideas to take home to work with their own bands. And for the first march off of DMA Utah…
Phil – 1 Rest of DMA Utah students – 0… but i am sure that will change after tomorrow.
As for now, lights are out and we are all Weber-RIFIC after the first evening!
